WHAT IF TECH DOES NOT BUY YOU THAT BENZ?

Can everyone be a “Tech bro or Tech sis”?

a tech bro

It all started after the Covid break in 2022. We all came back to campus to see some of our

classmates driving Lexus, the latest Corolla, Camry muscle and even Benz.

"Wow, this guy don change o. He’s now looking bigger and richer."

Some might whine them about it and ask for update, while some might just assume they’re into fraud (yahoo yahoo). After asking, you discover that he was into one aspect of tech during the break, became a freelancer and made some money off it. It could be either coding proper, front end or back end development, graphics design and motion graphics, animation and video editing, email marketing, copy and content writing, and many more.

Hearing this, it motivates you. You too want to bam ba, you want to chill with the big boys. You want to drive Lexus and Benz, you want them to play dorime for you in the club and be using the latest iPhone (no offense to the Samsung peeps). You then either download online courses on coding or you beg someone to teach you either for free or you pay some amount of money as consideration.

You watched the videos, it was looking like Greek, or your teacher tried explaining to you and as it was entering the left ear, it was leaving the right ear. Some might even say they’ll catch up when they start the actual work itself, that they learn with practical experience. You start it and you discover the stuff is really hard. You then begin to wonder how that "unserious" boy did it.

Reality check, just like how everyone is not built to be a business person, not everyone is also

wired to be a tech person. While tech has its really attractive perks, it doesn’t change the fact

that it’s a really technical field and requires a lot of dedication, expertise, time and innovation to a person to be “tech savvy”.

On the other side, the truth is that, you can force yourself to learn any tech skill actually. If you put in the right amount of dedication and commitment, you’ll learn it. It might just take some time. However, when you eventually start getting gigs or when you see the portfolio

of some other tech bros/sis’, oppression go wan kill you. This is because these guys, apart from mastering the craft, apply their innovative mind to create spectacular distinct projects and innovation cannot be taught, so when you see such projects, you just know that person is HIM.

Conclusively, if you’re feeling bad “tech” is not sticking to your head, chin up, because medicine and law is also not everybody’s strong suit; Maths is also not the strong suit of some certain set of people. You can always find out what appeals to you best and work on it. become a pro at it, and finally buy your Benz.
